The Daytime Hike

The guide will meet up with you at your hotel at the designated meeting time, if your hotel is at Tortuguero’s Downtown or at the main dock if your hotel is located outside of the main island. We begin this tour by heading to Sector Jaguar inside Tortuguero’s National Park, to get as close with nature as possible. This tour is basically a guided walk into the national park trials that allows the guest to get an immersive experience into the tropical humid forest that almost feels like nature is speaking directly to you at a certain point. During the whole tour your designated guide will be providing relevant information about what you are witnessing.

The visitors have the chance to witness some of the exuberant flora and fauna of the island with schedules defined with the designated guide between 08:00 hrs or 14:00 hrs(usually 11:00 hrs) and lasting approximately two hours. Be aware that this tour is based on a pretty virgin and humid setting which is home for multiple species of insects specially mosquitos, nothing to be afraid of, just wear insect repellent and you will be more than prepared. On the guide’s indication we will begin our way back from the deep trial to the entrance of the trails where we started. The total length of the trail is 3.2 kilometers, mostly flat, just having some tree roots on the sides and little partial bumps in the middle in some areas of the trail. The Daytime Hike will allow the guests to get in to the home of multiple snakes, spiders such as the famous “Bull Spider”, monkeys, anteaters, iguanas and so much more.

After all the tour is done, the guide will open a small talk regarding the experience, so, all the questions you had and forgot to ask at the moment can be answered during this “forum” and also hearing different opinions from your tour fellows is always a rich experience we never want the guest to miss.
